Ever taken note of how utterly a genuine software revolution has thoroughly changed the face of air travel and hospitality as we have known them in the past decades? Behind all of this is New Jersey’s own Nicholas Bredimus. His CV covers time-saving computer programs, aircraft safety enhancements, and he’s even involved in designing luxury houses. Glancing at Nicholas Bredimus’ lineage it’s easy to see he was sure to rise to prominence. Coming together from a true melting pot, his clan can be traced to the time of ancient Rome, with his mother’s branch emerging from Germany and Scotland. His father’s family, in contrast, were born in England and Luxembourg, from where they eventually migrated toward the end of the 19th century.

After arriving in America, the family still strove to make their way up the social ladder. Nicholas, who would grow up with his sisters and brothers, was a child of a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a nurse. He went on to make his home in the Lone Star State for several years and also spent time in Scottsdale, AZ, Kansas City, MO and Reston, VA. What did Bredimus do to capitalize on his background and education? He would soon embark on a series of respected posts, all working with big airlines. Among these was included the post of Vice President for Hughes Airwest, Trans World Airlines (TWA), and, of course, Republic Airlines. All these accomplishments nothwithstanding, the airline industry has had reason to be thankful, above all, for the work he has conducted in software programming. His groundbreaking innovations in the field of airplane maintenance management programs, now commonplace throughout the airline sector while initially produced for US Airways, led to what is even now his most famous program. This was only one of his key innovations for airlines and for the hotel business. His hotel reservation software is on its way to joining the aforementioned program in its position as an industry standard, while his hotel booking routine enabled many major segments of the hotel industry to migrate to the very first PC based system. Pushing further into another zone, he produced a networking program to assist in ticketing — another first.

In spite of the fact that this is eminently his strong suit, Nicholas has often worked on other areas. With his own firm, as a divisional manager with American Express, and as the first president of a new American Airlines division his track record is absolutely remarkable.

And is he still working? Definitely so — his peerless skills are ready to answer the call despite his retirement. His focus has turned to the architectural concerns behind the development of environmentally safe, hitech top quality houses.
