The Saturdays Confirmed to Play London Concerts

The Saturdays and Taio Cruz are among stars confirmed to perform at three free concerts in London to coincide with the world premiere of Disney’s A Christmas Carol.

The two music acts will join Jim Carrey as he turns on the Christmas lights at Oxford Circus in the capital on November 3.

Daniel Merriweather and The Noisettes will perform a live set at Regent Street, where Colin Firth will light up the street. The BBC’s I’d Do Anything winner Jodie Pregner will also make an appearance.

Meanwhile, Spandau Ballet and Little Boots will play a headline set at St Paul’s Cathedral and will later join Bob Hoskins on stage for a light show. Britain’s Got Talent star Faryl Smith and the cast of top West End musical Hairspray are also expected to attend the event.

The festive season in the capital officially kicks off next Tueday with a trio of free concerts to mark the illumination of the Christmas lights.

The gigs will take place in Oxford Street, Regent Street and The City, and feature the likes of Spandau Ballet, The Saturdays, Taio Cruz, The Noisettes, Daniel Merriweather, Little Boots and Faryl Smith.

The performances will be followed by the switching-on of the Christmas lights in Oxford and Regent Streets by Jim Carrey and Colin Firth, while Bob Hoskins will host a spectacular light show in The City.

The three actors all star in Disney’s new 3D version of A Christmas Carol, which has its world premiere in London later that night.
