Virgin America’s Cocktails-Above-the-Sky
If you thought that social networking is only possible through the Internet; or that fun and chic cocktails can happen only in land, think again! California-based airline company, Virgin America, launched its almost month-long “Superfly” Wednesday night flight series last May. Described as flying nightclubs because of their glamorous, moodlit cabins, Virgin America’s Superfly planes allow its guests to socialize over in-flight cocktails while flying at 35,000 feet. Selected Wednesday night flights had guests drooling over the plane’s seat-to-seat chat sessions which allowed a number of them, especially the single ones, to meet and mingle. In addition, guests were provided with Superfly boarding passes that allowed them to avail of attractive hotel discounts and VIP access to several posh hotspots in Hollywood, San Francisco, and Las Vegas. Virgin America’s Superfly series was conceptualized to help chase away mid-week blues. It provided a unique, fun, entertaining, and classy way of meeting people whom you’d like to spend your weekends with. It also reflected the airline’s lifelong commitment to offering innovative in-flight features that speak of satisfaction and convenience. Virgin America’s planes carry ultra-modern features like in-flight entertainment systems and power outlets which may be used for electronic devices like laptops. Although Superfly’s last flight took off last June 18, the airline’s cocktails-above-the-sky concept not only reinvented the concept of social networking and air travel; it has also left travelers craving for more fun and glitzy flying features!
